"The universe is made of stories, not of atoms," - Muriel Rukeyser
Julie Kay Kelly has been chasing stories for as long as she can remember. Driven by a lifelong obsession with capturing the ephemeral, she trained at Stanford and the Columbia Journalism School before spending years as a radio, newspaper, and magazine journalist. Her storytelling has taken her from migrant worker centers to maximum security prisons, from the jungles of the Amazon to the heart of the luxury wedding world. In 2007 she launched her own storytelling and photography business.

Julie has always found a deep magic in listening for and capturing stories. She believes that doing so helps us become present to the narrative arcs of our lives, more aware of the big picture, and increasingly attuned to the sacred in each moment. To listen for and capture a story is to honor deeply. It is to focus on what we love and cherish, and to create a way to celebrate it again and again.
Julie believes our stories are all connected, and that love and celebration can be used as powerful assets. A percentage of proceeds from each storytelling project goes to people in need, many of whose stories Julie has had the privilege of capturing and sharing.
